FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01

Does UC-Housing Own Their Own Properties Or Just Rent?

Great question! UC-Housing specializes in master leases. This means, UC-Housing master leases/rents entire units from Apartment/Condo/Home Owners and then leases "bed-by-bed" or "room-by-room" to you (the tenant). Remember, getting approved for a bedroom is much easier than an entire unit! With UC-Housing, we make it easy; just apply, sign, pay, and move in.

02

Why Should I Rent With UC-Housing?

There are many benefits when renting with UC-Housing.  We are a full-service housing company that provides fully furnished accommodations to those looking for temporary or long term stays. No need to hire movers or carry heavy furniture in, we have you covered! Some of the other notable perks include all-inclusive-flat-rate utility payments, easy online payment methods, concierge services, less stringent income requirements,  advanced online customer service, roommate matching, free parking* and much more. Dislike the awkward process of interviewing roommates? Don't worry, we do that for you.

03

How Do I Pay Rent, Deposits, and Utilities?

It's easy! We accept 3 different online payment methods including smartphone app payments. Additionally, we have scheduled days where you can drop off your rent at one of our managers' units. You can always mail checks to one of our many office locations as well.

04

How Much Are Utilities?

We understand how busy your schedule is; therefore, most of our units charge one small simple flat rate. If you are a resident, you may log into our Tenant Resources Page or contact one of our representatives to get more information.

05

What Do Utilities Include?

High Speed WiFi, Electricity, Water, Gas (if available), Sewer/Trash Charges (if applicable).

06

What Happens If I Have To Terminate My Lease Early?

You as the tenant are liable for your entire lease consideration from its commencement date until its expiration date. If you must terminate your lease agreement with us early for emergency reasons, you must give us at least 30-60 day notice prior to your departure. If your lease termination is approved, you will automatically forfeit your security deposit and may be subject to any utility charges/damages incurred during your stay. Because we are a tenant friendly company, we will do our best to work with you to help find a replacement tenant; however, it will be up to you to find someone comparable to takeover your agreement. You must email our main email address to notify us of this termination and will be asked to cooperate with any showings or tours.

07

Can I Contact Representatives At Any Time Of Day?

Our normal business/operating hours are from 9am until 7pm Monday through Saturday. Although our managers and representatives may have mobile phones, facebook, lives, and instagram, we ask you to respect their time and privacy by only contacting them for urgent matters or emergencies. For any non-urgent complaints or requests, you should always try to log into our Tenant Resources Page and submit a request/complaint first.

08

Do I Need To Give 30-60 Day Prior Written Notice Even If I Don't Plan To Extend My Lease?

Yes. As per Section 1 in your Lease Agreement, ALL residents/tenants are required to submit a 30-60 day prior written notice to one of our representatives and/or managers. This gives us enough time to find a suitable replacement for you and will allow enough time for us to transfer you if your space has already been pre-leased. Please note that any request for extension is subject to availability and pre-leased contracts. You may submit all requests for extension in writing via email (info@uc-housing.com) or submit our formal "Lease Extension Form" (click here to download).

09

If One Of My Roommates Moves Out, Am I Responsible For Their Portion Of Rent?

Absolutely not. UC-Housing guarantees all leases and protects all of its tenants' rent obligations. Even if all of your roommates move out from your comfy 2 bedroom 2 bath, you will still not be held liable for their share of rent.

*Parking options are typically free subject to the location. We reserve the right to charge parking fees.
